RECORDS FALL ON DAY THREE OF ASA AGE GROUP CHAMPS

Christiaan Bester shattered the national record in the U18 boys 10 000m walk in 45:05.51 to demolish the previous SA youth mark of 46:14.72 which had been set by Jacobus van Dyk in Bellville in April 2002. This was on Day 3 of the TWIZZA ASA Age Category (u16-u20) Championships 2021 in Paarl.

Lythe Pillay in the U20 men’s 400m final, the sprint prodigy did not disappoint, clocking 46.13 seconds to win gold nearly a full second clear of his nearest opponent.
